Welcome to Beehive School
Beehive School is a not-for-profit social enterprise, based in Battambang, Cambodia. It was founded by Vireak Kong, a local Cambodian school teacher and Tamara Askew, a British marketing professional in 2016. Beehive School offers free language education to local in children aged 7-14 in Battambang, Cambodia. The children learn English, French and German, to equip them with the important life skills to help get them out of poverty.

The social enterprise
Language Skills
We teach children Cambodian, their local language, alongside English, French and German. The curriculum consists of KS1 basic reading, writing and verbal skills spanning the four languages.
Confidence Building
We give children a new world view. Instead of feeling lost, without opportunity, destined to beg or steal to sustain a living, Beehive School gives children and the wider community a boost of confidence, that they may be able to do more.
Cultural Exchange
We work with volunteers, social enterprises and foreign teachers so they can come to the school and share their knowledge. Either by teaching classes, or teaching the children new skills spanning recycling plastic bags into usable blocks, or gymnastic circus skills.
